Carry Me Forward Poem by Rik Bertrand

Carry Me Forward

I have experience all that is truly relevant,
I have suffered the pain and relished what I could.
Time has manipulated the seasons of our lives,
And the changes are not completely understood.

Carry me forward, to another place, to another time,
Where life has a little reason and a little rhyme.
Where we all can be at peace with one another,
And all that we have is in its perpetual prime.

No man or woman wants life in the norm,
Life should be wild like a vast winter storm.
Moving with nature, free and with spirit,
That is the life in true living form.

Carry me forward, to a place of the wild
To a life full of spirit, and a heart of a child.
Carry me forward, to a time full of grace,
Where life is no copy, but is newly styled.

Carry me forward, away from this place,
Where I can live life at my leisurely pace.
Away from the many that live in a sphere,
To a new time of plenty, where my life I can chase.
