Cat In The Window Poem by Robert R. Railey

Cat In The Window

Cat in the Window

Oh! What glorious sights you must envision while manning your daily vigil as the neighborhood sentinel
Resentments too, you must certainly have a few, by being forced to watch all of the unfettered pets as they go strolling past your window
We may also wonder what else you imagine for it seems to us that those resentments would have to overtake your thoughts as you sit atop the sofa
Do you cats see colors? A friend of mine once asked, or do they merely see the grays like the big cats of the jungle purportedly do.
Regardless, though, it's certainly not fair for you to be stuck on the inside of your house all day; and especially since the dogs in your home are allowed to roam free in their own backyard
And even though your window to the world might seem exciting at times, methinks you'd rather be sampling some different fares such as the birds that you see daily.
Oh! What a tasty repast that would be, if only you could escape from your master's tight clasp
So why don't we hatch a plan to win your freedom; it'll be at midnight, of course, when they're all sound asleep and the door is left wide open
