Cats Are Psychosomatic Poem by Julian Takali

Cats Are Psychosomatic

Oh! How warm you appear!
But every feline is internally distant, and externally near
She purrs and whirls around me and my long legs
Then bounces away and the shock hits me on my soft head
The licks seem to be infallible and heartfelt
Maybe she dotes all this way, and Im another on her revolving belt
But she remains a thought, within the clasp of distance she is caught
What was meant to be is in this moment a mere memory
Elegance
Eloquence
Intelligence
Be her flaws what they may, albeit I adore the imperfections like a maniacal shadow
Continue, I will, assured you can sleep
That one day, your lips and mine will inevitably meet
