Duskfall Poem by Julian Takali

Duskfall

Rating: 5.0

Even though we laugh
When times are jolly
Even though we smile
In times of folly

The dusk beneath your eyes awaits

Through the haughty air
And the lavender sky
A raven circles
Watching from the corner of its eye

While you dance with the stars
In some abandoned park
Your black dahlia awaits
On your lacquered bark

But the worst time of day
Is when the sun goes away
When the twilight creeps
Reminding you of defeat

That is when we all see
The true meaning of
Negative ecstasy

An insightful philosophical piece on like, well articulated and elegantly brought forth in good rhyme scheme with conviction. Thanks for sharing Takali. Please read my poem CHILDREN OF CRUEL FATE.

Negative ecstasy! What a unique concept! A very fascinating poem. By the way, this appears to be the first poem that you have posted to this site, so welcome to Poem Hunter!
