Caught Unawares Poem by Diana van den Berg

Caught Unawares

A long ago any song
in a sort of remember voice
bites into my breath
paralyzing today
and the yesterdays roll
smudging the dark
and sun-tingeing the light
and a smile
relaxes
my toes.
