Certain Types Of Losses Poem by Nicholas Peter

Certain Types Of Losses

I lit another cigarette,
just to kill some stress,
and maybe some time.

I was waiting for you,
as you walked in the room,
all dressed in blue.

You smiled a coy smile,
and took off your clothes,
and laughed.

I never understood that laugh,
I guess it was just funny,
the fact that it was the two of us.

We did it twice,
and you shooed me out of the door,
on empty 'I love you's' and broken kisses.

I walked home that night,
A half smile with half a smoke,
pondering on the evening.

It was nice,
to be enveloped in you,
that was true.

An starry night debauchery,
a hidden affair,
locked away,
in our China box memories.
