Chance Of Rain... Poem by dave lessard

Chance Of Rain...

There's gloomy skies at day break
chance of rain, in places I hike;
I put on my rain repellant gear
and I'm off to those trails I like.
The morn is gray and cluttered
like shrouds the clouds pass by;
in the east, the sun is hidden
on the ground, the earth, is dry.
Then a glow begins to form
and the sun takes center stage;
the land becomes much clearer
and it's color now, is beige.
Rain parched land, desert land
await the hints of rain;
yellow-brown fields of grass
of autumn's last remains.
The sun is swallowed quickly
the shrouds come creeping back;
blooming with sudden darkness
turning the morning black.
I turn to begin my return
and my walking starts to wane;
I've finished my morning hike
and dodged the chance of rain.

I'm afraid if I thought rain I would stay inside rather than hike, nice poem enjoyed the visual
