Chandigarh Town Poem by Dipy Hermonite

Chandigarh Town

People keep talking about so many countries,
Of far away places they have seen,
But all I can think about is my home,
Where the sky is blue and the grass is so green,
My daddy fell in love with this place and he built his home here,
Spending each penny of the hard earned money he had,
It may not be as royal as Buckingham Palace,
But I'd rather be here then at the castle at Lenningrad.

Chandigarh Town, Chandigarh Town,
Where the girls are so cute and their eyes are brown.
Chandigarh Town,
Chandigarh Town,
You've got my heart, my body, my soul,
Upside down.

Last time when I went there on Annual Leave,
I fell in love with this gorgeous girl at sight,
But I didn't have the guts to say ‘Hello' or ‘Hi',
Coz I was scared she might just faint with fright,
But on mustering up some courage I said ‘Excuse me,
Would you like to come out with me to.... he! he! ! '
She didn't see my face but her eyes fell on my blazer,
She said ‘Oh my! Sure! ! You're from the IMA'.

This was in -
Chandigarh Town,
Chandigarh Town,
Where Rina, Tina, Sheena,
Are so brown,
Chandigarh Town,
Chandigarh Town,
You've got my heart, my body, my soul,
Upside down.

At IMA the scene was slightly different,
‘Bajri Order' was a Fundamental Right,
‘Pay attention Alamein Company,
Ten mile run - two o'clock at night,
You blighter where were you at morning PT?
Take seven, the juiciest, and carry on, right? !
And if you feel that these are insufficient,
You can come right back for more' - oh what a plight.

I really missed -
Chandigarh Town,
Chandigarh Town,
Where Rina, Tina, Sheena,
Are so brown,
Chandigarh Town,
Chandigarh Town,
You've got my heart, my body, my soul,
Upside down.

Now a days I'm a Lieutenant in the army,
Instead of swanky cars we ride on tanks all day,
In place of this guitar I've got a machine gun,
There's just no time for fun like we're having today,
Although my life is cool sometimes I'm lonely,
All those lovely girls out there keep filling my mind,
At times such as these it's only,
Fond memories of the days that I've left behind!

I still miss -
Chandigarh Town
