Ioan Mourat

Change - Poem by Ioan Mourat

You and me, we were just friends,
until I fell in love with you it was the end.
We took our separate ways,
and I got tired of chasing you everyday.
but I still know in my heart,
I love you always, even when we part.

Now a new day has begun,
The darkness has been cast away by the sun.
And though the shadows still remain,
Our lives have never quite been the same.
And no matter what they say,
You’re beautiful, incredible and irresistible in every way.

Take this rhythm out of my head,
This untimely metronome, never meant to be heard.
I want to be in your arms
And fall in love with your colourful charm.
And I know this is too good to be true,
But nothing will ever change the way I feel for you.
