Have patience with me,
I am still very tender....
In my heart
There are emotions that I am still trying to figure...
Out in the open I smile and smile,
To hide things I don't want you to see,
My life is such a lie.
You see beauty isn't everything...
and isn't a cure for unhappiness at all
I am very pleased how my FATHER has made me,
It is the inside that is torn from wall to wall.
True happiness is when you love yourself
and to accept the things you can and cannot change
This is called priceless wealth!
Be true to yourself!
Fall in love with you!
Carry yourself with pride,
Create a brand new attitude.
You deserve it,
Loving yourself is up to you.

Poignant poem. I know only too well how the inside and outside self can be at war. You make a very valid point - until we love ourself how can we expect others to do so. Accepting the things we cannot change, now that is a hard task and one I fight a losing battle with regularly. If you can accept it it is 'priceless wealth' indeed.
