Changes Poem by ROGEL FRANCIS SORIOSO

Changes happen when you do the things which are opposite from your own norm
Praying to God, drinking beer, breaking the Law, being polite and any types or form
For you are stepping out of your comfort zone to try all of the changes in the trend
Of the matters which are new in order for you to understand or even comprehend
There could be changes in us physically but it doesn't mean our mindset have also change
If you are divinely good since from the start until the end then you haven't change at all
If you are wickedly bad from birth until death then you haven't changed and risk the fall
Being goody-goody doesn't mean that you have to obey whatever the church tells you must
For the church is a primitive institution which made no contribution to us all since the past
So follow those people with great minds and talent for they possess the blessings of God
People who made our lives better through all the achievements and success that they had
If you're mischievously bad that you're an outlaw changes could still occur if you say it can
By obeying the Law this time and to face the consequences of your actions like a brave man
Even if you had magically avoided the Law and Karma in this lifetime but you will still know
The punishment coming when you are born like a humanoid freak at some cheap circus show
Karma will get you by being born with some severe disabilities or even some rare condition
In order to suffer a lifetime of pain, humiliation, famine or even torture to feel in your emotion
We could change for the worst or we could change for the better as we try
For nothing worst could come from actually trying like try and try until you succeed
By changing what we think could be best to us for life is full of great surprises indeed
Let me compare for once the Americans to the Filipinos just like us
Do you even think that the "Maria Clara" character only existed in your Filipino tradition
Most American women in the past are the same however mostly change due to adaptation
In the advent of technology everything evolved faster like fast food, fast cars or fast courtship
Even if it took you a year to court your woman there's no guarantee that it will be a success
Strong relationships are not based on its courtship but rather on the virtue you both posses
Bear in mind that the tribal women of this country barely had any clothes on way back then
Their breasts were exposed and a short piece of cloth to cover its bottom inside the village
No offense but you suddenly became this holy virgin and hard to get Maria Clara in image
The fashion of Maria Clara clothing is not even your own style but of the late Spain
Philippines was once composed of tribes who barely had any clothes on for the rain
For technology and wealth will always change our very own perspective
We want everything to be faster for time is of the essence in the objective
Some Filipinos think their tradition is better out of the respect given to women and elders
But we should not generalize the Americans for there are still remaining who are the same
For most Americans are born to be rebels just like their Founders unlike us who are tame
So the Americans have their power or wealth and we Filipinos have our values to eat
For the Filipinos to claim that they are closer to God for being faithful unlike the West
Well look again I even think that God abandoned you for being a destitute in the East
For the Powerful Heavenly Father sits on his throne to be seen at their nation's own capital
The only reason why people like you, them or others who are weak are not slaves as a mortal
Change is when we give up something we love to acquire something greater to love
For only then we as a People and Nation could in fact rise as champions up above
