Charles Poem by confused teen

Charles

Charles Eugene Jones was my dad, coach, and best friend
I never thought our friendship would end

He was the best dad anyone could ever ask for
Always telling jokes he was never a bore

He understood me like no one else would
And gave me strength when no one else could

I may not walk with him in our own special way
But pray that I will again someday

I walk in a new path without direction
Alone for the first time with no protection
