Poem by Newfonie J. Inman

I was looking for you, I was waiting for you,
When suddenly you came up to me, desiring to take me away
Wanting to be near you, I stayed
You came up to me, in your heart a place given to stay
My heart is not free, I couldn't say - you sat beside me
Your heart saying be mine. You asked my name I asked the time
Much I didn't say, knowing I couldn't be thine
My dream came true, you asked me to dine
My heart! you came to me setting my heart free
I was dreaming of the sanctuary you offered to me
Desiring to be safely held in your arms kind and strong
You took me home, I knew it wasn't wrong
For the rest of your life, your wife you asked me to be
Tenderly, you came up to me setting my heart free
Desiring to stay in your loving arms my heart is yours to see
You cherish my heart
I'll live in your arms eternally
My heart! you came to me setting my heart free.
