Childhood Love Poem by Lade Kolawole

Childhood Love

Rating: 2.8

Love...
in the movies they make love seem...
Magical, no wrongs, overcomes everything,
And most importantly easy!

I guess they do it in hope to change the perspective of love
But sadly for us...
Love isn't like the movies
Their are barely any fairytale endings

Divorce happens, affairs affect us
It seems like we don't believe anymore...
In true love, fairytales, or Mr. Perfect

I wish I could hack into my childhood imagination
Could it make us see love a different way?
Will true love finally exist?

Or is love just not true...

A lovely well articulated poem written with insight to capture the essence of the poem and the poet's convictions. Real-life love is different from fairytale love in their stories but almost the same in essence. You're a very young poet but so mature in insight and train of thoughts. A nice poem indeed. Thanks for sharing and do keep it up. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
