Childish. Poem by Tom Allport

Childish.

I remember the place
Where I was born
The little window
Where the sun
Beamed at me
The garden full
Of roses and buttercups
The lilacs where robins nest
The oak trees
Majestic and tall
So close against the sky
A childish ignorance maybe
Like we never die.
