I often worry
Of where my next meal comes from
Of where do I sleep next?
Of what the future holds?
Worrying of these things
Takes my mind off
........Of living.
we should worry, how much people concern about this, so the unfortunate people will get well treatment...so their life is still being taken care of even they themselve cant do...i worry what will be next as tougher time will hit more when we become greater... Frank was right, worry dont plan will help, that for the person..for us, our hand to help if possible...no one can predict and know what time witness and hold in past and future. Nice poem dear, it so beautifully written...a good theme!
It's a deep work. To step into the shoes of a homeless person and to see life through his eyes, how wonderfully you have done it. A poignant write. Living is essential to soul's well being but a homeless person can only exist. A10
Very nicely done- - - -Worry kills our joy of LIVING. I often worry Of where my next meal comes from Of where do I sleep next? Of what the future holds? Worrying of these things Takes my mind off ........Of living.
Indeed! Applies also to those who aren't homeless. Homelessness shows us all that there is something very wrong in the world...the world is flawed, society is flawed and few care or can make a difference.
An outstanding succinct piece. To live our life to the fullest we must have the basic necessities of life.
Worrying of these things Takes my mind off.... homelessness.. it is so great that you as a poet think of the homeless and trying to get into their mind set, you wrote this. greatness of your heart..! ! ! thank u dear Tom
to MyPoemList. but i feel that some those, 'we' think of as homeless, are not without a 'roof' over their heads (even if it is a tent) . i think, for some 'homeless', life with the 'luxuries' would be worse. but i'm not homeless, and i should let them speak for themselves. it's probably a 'mixed bag'. bri :)
(continued) ........... 4- no tips for a waiter/waitress 5- no insurance to pay 6- no need to buy a dresser to store clothing 7- no watch to wind 8- no lawn to mow etc. etc. etc. then i come back to 'reality'. homelessness probably sucks much of the time, without the 'luxuries' many/most? PH members enjoy, like food, a bed, medical care, and internet 24/7. bri :)

I would like to translate this poem
though meals and beds and 'the future' are all parts of 'living', in some mysterious way your poem makes sense. sometimes i think of how a homeless person's life is so much 'nicer' than mine: 1- no taxes to pay 2- no rent to pay 3- no doctor bills to pay (to be continued) ...........
