Chit-Chat Poem by David Olughu

Chit-Chat

A sea of walkers;
all I see is stalkers.
Looking over their shoulders,
for gossip has showed hers.
Whispers of truthful lies,
flying words faster than the speed of light.
A bucket of tooth full lice.
Negativity has taken flight.
Friends today,
allies with debts to pay.
Cheesy smiles,
as they walk life isles.
Fully armed archers, aimed and always ready to fire words so dire.
Speeches that suck blood like leaches and bite like bitches.
Words that kill,
emanating from blunt mouths without seal,
a world of verbal chaos and peril.
Vocalists of vogue gists in endless lists.
People's stories are like melodic solfa notes.
Chords of mischievous words,
enticing to the ear but unpleasant to hear.
Behind the scene chit chatters,
spear headers of hot and juicy matters.
Their lips flap so fast like the wings of a humming bird.
Ears, peaked to pick out the slightest signal.
Once tapped into the right frequency,
a wild fire of stories is set ablaze.
Well, time will tell,
when the things caught up in their fire begin to smell.
