Chopin - Nocturne Op.9 No.2 Poem by RIC BASTASA

Chopin - Nocturne Op.9 No.2

Chopin's music plays
in my mind mid morning when
everyone has been too busy
with the chores of everyday

my father who once thought
that i was the lazy bone who
prefers books than the farm
or my brother who's named
as the black sheep going
into the ramble of a rebellion
if he is still alive today
would have known much better
for what we are and what have
we become.

at the end love for the family
prevails, what errors were there
become buried and forgotten.

as what i have finally grasped
you cannot judge a flower with
its buds, neither can you judge
a book by its cover.

the black sheep and the lazy bone
proved to be but only first impressions.
