Christmas Eve Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Christmas Eve

Christmas lights are shining tonight
The cottage lit up in colours bright.
Children are singing along the street,
Mustn't stay long, they need their sleep.
We all wake up to the Holiest Day...
A time for giving, a time to pray,
And enjoy the wine and Christmas fare
For tomorrow's the day love fills the air.
Twenty-fifth December, a burning ember.
The meaning of life - the day to remember
With hearts full of happiness everywhere.

Holy December.
