Christmas Nowadays Poem by Dr John Celes

“You have no fear, ” the angel said,
“To Shepherds on a winter’s night.”
“A king anew is born today! ”
The king of Jews and King of kings.
He is the truth and way and light!

No place was there in Bethlehem;
Born in a manger, so he lay;
Swaddled in cloth, he slept on hay;
He came to save all sinners, Aye!
And show all Heaven’s only way!

And angel choirs sang in God’s praise;
Thus, Jesus was living God’s face!
The Savior’s born in hearts with grace;
He came to forgive human race,
And die on cross, the Bible says!

But what about Christmas these days?
Is Jesus born in homes truly?
Is Jesus born in souls holy?
The Son of man is born surely
In souls who confess sins freely!
