Chronicles Of Abotani Poem by Karpop Riba

Chronicles Of Abotani

As the saying goes -
Heroes get remembered but Legends never die
Such is ABOTANI, the primeval ancestor
Progenitor of Tani tribes -
Adi, Nyishi, Galo, Tagin and Apatani.
Are the descendents five
Mountains of Arunachal is your humble abode.
A Hunter, a gatherer like none
Acquainted rearing of rice to folks
Your legends stand innumerable
But I find one remarkable
Being captured by Digo- Ane people
For you trailed your beloved Kiipu & Duumpoo
Had a trick up your sleeves
Play possum, put people in tenterhooks
Behold at long last, free as a bird
Laden with gifts of rice & maize seeds you returned.
