Cinnamon Scent Poem by Biraj Valia

Cinnamon Scent

The woody whiff ruffled thoughts in a fun
Invigorating youth from autumn run
Spiciness in whispers tickling romance
Conversation betwixt hearts was on spun
Both expressing warmth in a hidden glance
Soliciting love with that spicy stance
Unravelling feelings on crackling leaves
Barren desires and fallen leaves in dance
Cinnamon scent travel ally deceive
As vanilla reminiscences grieve
To touch tender ardour before they shun
Autumn day spent as emotions conceive

Interlocking Rubaiyat
The poem is comprised of quatrains following an aaba rhyme pattern.
Each successive quatrain picks up the unrhymed line as the rhyme for that stanza. So a three-stanza rubaiyat might rhyme so: aaba/bbcb/ccac.
Lines are usually tetrameter and pentameter.
