Cinnamon Sticks Staining The Etchings - Poem by Onyi Ogwumike

Cinnamon sticks staining the etchings
of maturity of my mole-skin breaks
against the tan pink of my tear smoother.
The favor never obliged…
The sores toughening, I pick at them mercilessly.
