Circling Around God Poem by Ayni Poet

Circling Around God

The whispers of grief and hopelessness
Come echoing again between the mirrors of the mind,
And one is locked in an obscure house,
Desperately hunting the liberating Light.

"Which of these shapes I see is real? "
None, they are all transient and empty.
"Which of these feelings are my heart's voice? "
None, the Heart is quiet and full of peace.
"Why this prison seems delightful and desirable? "
Because the senses keep on casting dramatic shows.
"How could pure water wash over my face? "
By sinking your eyes into the Void.
"Will my tears and good deeds save me from here? "
No, those are the ego's dancing clouds.
"Which day will make my house burn into Light? "
That when the veil of ignorance is shrewd
And the begger realizes it is the King.
"How could words point to the Absolute? "
They never can,
Be Still and know.
