Circumlocution

Leaving aside the authorial vanity of both,

both,

for its time-bound references,

what had nowhere near as much circumlocution
when it was written as it has now,

"Ulysses",

and,

for its author's need to stretch out a serial
to maximize money,

what had about the same,

"Crime and Punishment",

both,

many think,

need now OUR locution.
