I brought back five leaves
from my Gardens walk
to test Richard
stuck in the car:
a very 'old' gingko -
he said nasturtium;
an uncommon hand-shaped plane -
he knew the maple-like common;
two oaks,
the unusual q. brantii, and the usual;
and a sequoia -
there's a gum in Australia that's higher, * said Dick.
He being a poet who eschews rhyme,
I said, yeah, but nowhere near as thick.
* Not true since 2006, when a 116 metre sequoia named Hyperion was found.
The highest eucalyptus regnans, Centurion, is a hundred.

Such a knowledgeable poet you are. Nasturtiums are a favourite of mine. Thank you Douglas
