Claudia Poem by Rachel Harris

Claudia

Our conversations begin with a hug
And the words follow
She loves me in a gentle way
But it is powerful as the river’s flow
I never quite know what to say
But she understands
As she stands by me,
Taking my hair in her hands,
She tells me many things
I learn as I listen to her voice
Precious are those moments
I would not trade them, had I the choice
I love to watch her smile
And hear her laughter
Laughter, which warms my heart
And leaves her face glowing after
I don’t have words to thank her
So I just love her with my whole heart
And give her my best hugs
Knowing nothing could break us apart
