Cleansing Poem by Claire Abbott

Cleansing

Rating: 5.0

Cleansing. You from my mind, from my body, from my life.
Returning all your belongings.
You said to sell them and keep the money.
Why would I want that, means being linked to you.
So I'm cleaning, removing, destroying.
You are no longer part of my life,
No longer part of who or what I am.
I have made something of myself,
I have a new life, a good life, I have achieved that on my own.
I never needed you, just thought I did. But now I know I don't.
So expect a parcel in the post,
Shows its really over when I look and remember,
But the feeling is just emptiness, not even sadness or anger anymore!
