Clewless, And Clawless Poem by Barry Van Allen

Clewless, And Clawless

My friend Diane just stood there,
probably giddy with delight,
as her thoughts flew overhead for me,
... and tried with all her might,
to keep from laughing.

That happens with me sometimes,
the obvious is not;
it would be good if she were not quite,
... so appreciative sometimes!

She knows that I see through,
most everything, most all the time,
and seldom say a thing about it,
as a respectful kind of guy.

That is not to say, that I don't laugh at her,
she knows I do... and she knows why,
because, I enjoy the fun we have,
... not really laughing 'AT ' her,
... as much as laughing ' WITH ' her.

We both find life as comedy,
otherwise... we will meet again,
at the end of roads we roam,
in the ' goofy people's ' home!

Owned by friends and family,
as if we didn't know,
that today was all about,
... give to us this day, our daily joke.

That does not make it any better,
well, maybe just a tad...
when she gets a hearty chuckle,
- - - maybe, it's her due,
when I didn't have a clue,
about the cougar!

Hey; if we do end up in the 'goofy peoples' home, I'm calling dibs on the chair by the window. But I like to share so no worries................... :) Hugs, Diane
