Clock Ticks On Poem by Ashley Kolakowski

Clock Ticks On

As the clock keeps ticking,
Im counting down the minutes until I can take my life.
Counting down until I will finally be free.
I count down until I will be able to have a real smile.
Only a few minutes left.
Have all my notes written.
Count each one and lay them out.
I have everything set up just as the clock chimes twelve.
I sit on my floor,
Pop three bottles of pills.
I count each beat of my heart
It's slowing down and fading away
I finally smile a real smile
I die as the clock ticks on...
