Clocks Stop - Poem by Lynzi Berner

Clocks stop
What day is it?
What is the hour?

Has it been that long?
I look at my eyes
empty, like shells

What happened to me?

A flash of a smile
A shared laugh over a
private joke
Oh yes, I remember
I fell in love

I smile
Gods, he was so beautiful
oh, and how he loved me
So open and real
With all the passion
of faerie tales

He left
I'm still not sure why
Although the one thing
that gets me
is how

We used to wish for time to
stop
to leave us together and just
let us be

Well I got my wish

When he left time
stopped
but it left me
alone

Be so very careful what you wish for
