The Change Poem by Ed Homer

The Change

Before you wake up
You notice its night
Blaming biological clocks
Feels so right

It can't be me
As I know myself
There has to be some reason
So what the hell

It all boils down to age
The astral time clocks slows
We move at a different pace
Its all pre-arranged

So don't fight it
Delight in it
Its gonna do its own thing

Don't fight it
Get excited
You're going through the change

You notice hair growth
But its in your ears
Your eye brows thicken
Making people fear

Thinking you're a demon
Maybe a vampire
You ask yourself
Why oh why

It all boils down to age
The astral time clocks slows
We move at a different pace
Its all pre-arranged

So don't fight it
Delight in it
Its gonna do its own thing

Don't fight it
Get excited
You're going through the change

But think rationally
There's no growing pains
Secure in living
Benefits now paid

Don't have to work
Retirement makes things change
But think about it
No workplace crap you have to face

It all boils down to age
The astral time clocks slows
We move at a different pace
Its all pre-arranged

So don't fight it
Delight in it
Its gonna do its own thing

Don't fight it
Get excited
You're going through the change
