I see nothing when I close my eyes,
A canvas blank, devoid of skies.
But colors burst when I gaze at lights,
A vibrant world, bathed in sun's bright sights.
Yet, I'm blinded by things that seem so bright,
Chasing illusions, lost in the night.
I focus on what I think will delight,
Forgetting the truth, in the fading light.
I prayed for things I never had,
A yearning heart, a soul that's sad.
God answered, giving what I should have,
A lesson learned, a life to save.
Does lack make a man weak, or strong?
Is righteousness found, where wrongs belong?
Is poverty a curse, or a chance to rise?
A question pondered, beneath the skies.
Oh, I know that all things happen for a reason,
A tapestry woven, through every season.
But does that mean the poor deserve their plight?
To sleep in the streets, day and night?
Perhaps it's a sign, a call to fight,
To rise above, with all your might.
No matter the thoughts that fill my mind,
One truth remains, forever enshrined:
'Life goes on, ' a constant refrain,
Through joy and sorrow, through sun and rain.
So let us embrace the journey we face,
With open hearts, and a hopeful grace.
