Closure Poem by Kai Ford

Closure

Rating: 5.0

There is a little hope that fades as I traverse the streets
It stood strong in the face of adversity
But dissipates in the face of truth
It finds itself standing alone in a pile of rubble left from the storm

Everyday this hope becomes smaller and less tangible
Even with my microscope of daily disecting, I can barely find it
It was once so big and certain
Once so certain and visible
Once escaping, I clung to it
Now...I happily release my white knuckled grip of the hope
And grasp to reality

The reality is as clear as the hope seemed to be
My heart's healing as I write
I can hear the wounds sealing up like a ziplock bag
even the self inflicted ones from years past of putting myself in harms way
have found a shelling of their own

My days are filled w/renewed purpose
Not the falsified kind I thought we had to the each other
but one to self
one that reminds me of my worth that I allowed to destroy my peace
But now this piece is probably the last one I'll write bearing any resemblance to you, us or what it was
Because today closure took place
and though it stings, it's healing the last of my questions about who and what you present yourself to be.
Good life to you sir!

The reality is as clear as the hope seemed to be My heart's healing as I write I can hear the wounds sealing up like a ziplock bag so many such lines and imagery are scatterd all the writing, its approach, analysis the self and outer-self with such a craft.......Really good experience of reading. Lastly as a reader I will have to address 'Good life to you sir! ' Write more, Live long 10++ Apoet Bangla
