Clouded Poem by Casey Gochnour

Clouded

My mind is becoming clouded,
From the last way you sounded;
Your voice with the words you would make,
What time, my enemy, has come to take.

He stole the moments as much as he gave,
The moments we would fear, the moments we were brave,
Each ringing in my mind as I look back on our love,
With bursts of insanity I’d rather not speak of.

You’re running through my mind all throughout the day,
Always in some way, every which way.
It’s hard to focus whenever I have to think,
Constantly feeling my life is on the brink.

It’s hard to be patient when it’s so easy to change,
When our book of romance could use another page.
I miss the way you look whenever you’d see my face,
Or when I’d embarrass you and you’d pick up your pace.

I miss the way you’d say my name and when you said you loved me,
And how I know you felt the same and wished that we could be.
And now every time I lay my head down to rest,
It’s so hard with a bleeding hole in my chest.

My mind is clouded, you’re all I think about.
From the last way you sounded, you rid me of doubt.
Using your voice with the words you would make for me,
And time, my enemy, has come to take away,
What we could be.

I miss you.
