Clouds Poem by Sumali Nagarajan

Clouds

Rating: 5.0

It was a clear blue sky
Now its covered with clouds
Some are unblemished n crystal clear
While some are laden with doubts.

Some are hues of white
And some are shades of grey
My focus on them is steady
My windblown hair in complete disarray.

Some dark clouds have a silver lining
Which sometimes we can see
But at others
Only time will tell.

I can see a dark cloud on the horizon
But I have vowed to keep my thoughts in the present
So I shift my attention
And try to make sense of their shapes n patterns.

I see streaks like shooting stars
And I see curves of cauliflowers
Some are like a maize or veil
Clouding my distant future
Which I wish I could foretell.

While some are like a puff of smoke
Close enough to obstruct my breath
Clouding my vision
And making my eyes water.

Then I spot a stray cloud-let
Like a pony who is not tethered
Making me realize my thoughts are free
To wander about, in pursuit of happiness
In times of melee, to stay undeterred.

A dark cloud just moved away
And the bright sun came shining through
Giving my vision clarity
Bidding my doubts adieu
The clear blue sky, back in view.
