Clownstown Poem by Rima Kane

Clownstown

Rating: 4.0

Eyes like caves
that lead to nowhere
Lips spread wide,
they sneer at me
producing razor sharp teeth,
sharp enough to kill
They pretend to bring happiness,
but it's really a haunting experience
too close to death
to be ignored
I've experienced the horror
in the recesses of my mind
as well as on my trips
to the circus

(2000)
