Clydesdale Perfection Poem by Marilyn Lott

Clydesdale Perfection

I’m so glad you stopped by to see
How I’m doing today
I know your schedule is busy
And you don’t have long to stay

I have a busy schedule too, you know
For my grooming takes up time
They know how much I enjoy it
It gives them pleasure too, I find

I have to look just perfect for
A parade that’s coming soon
Folks line the streets to watch me
There are floats and huge balloons

They scream and yell and point
When my friends and I clop by
Why, I even saw a lady once
Who dabbed her eyes and cried

Yes, they feed me the best of grains
The top grade of hay by the bale
Because everything has to be perfect
For after all I’m a famous Clydesdale!
