The waters of Lake Ontario
So close up and personal
Standing at the very edge
The melting icy barrier a ledge
Gentle waves lap upon the sandy shore
Small calm ripples go before
The lake bay not as smooth as glass
But calm expanse of moving draft
Its deep blue sparkling surface beyond
Melds into bright cloudless sky to bond
What a wonder to witness such scenario
On this cold crisp day by Lake Ontario
