Well, the inevitable has happened,
have come down with Covid.
Did everything possible to avoid
but that unrelenting twisting snake
found a chink in the armor,
pounced right into the crack
that was open and undefended.
It came as no shock,
just a matter of time
when so many around had succumbed.
Struggling through the heavy tiredness,
the aching limbs, scratchy throat,
a temperature way above norm.
Now it is me, it is my turn
coping with Covid symptoms
of this odious disease, and thankfully,
protected with four jabs before
reducing the ravages
of what might have been!
Now this Covid will take its course,
maybe a few days, perhaps a week
and as it leaves my aching body
who knows who else will be infected
with this Covid virus,
this creeping, slithering menace!
