Cold, Distant And Perfect Poem by Chhavi Anupam

Cold, Distant And Perfect

Rating: 4.5

Often
I want to
touch you God
when the
cruel world
pushes me
out
of your protected realm.

I want to
run to you
for redemption,
but my spirit
is unable
to cover
the distance,
You do not respond
just stand and stare.

So many times
when the wise
smart world
betrays me
I want to embrace you,
…despite my pains
You do not
warm up.

Several times
it seems
how does
it matter
whether I live
or I die
with my harassments
who feels who cares.

You remain
just the same
cold
distant
and perfect
and lesser mortals
are left to accept
their unfortunate lives
as your divine dispensation!

I want to touch you
and cannot,
you can touch me
but will not
Is life fair play
all night no day
justice please
God! I seek release.
