Cold Icy Hush Poem by Marilyn Lott

Cold Icy Hush

Little crystals of ice on the ground
They always amaze me so
The crunchy sound beneath my feet
I hear wherever I go

Laced across the plants
Ice clings tightly like a frozen vest
We wonder if they'll survive till spring
If they'll past the icy test

Crocus' are popping up here and there
Right under the winter crust
Oh dear do you think they'll make it?
Warmer weather is really a must

And look at the adorable bird
Inside the iced-up bird bath
Looks like a layer of snow
As I walk down the garden path

It's a wonderful time of year
In the cold and icy hush
Yes, I'm anxious for spring to come
But I guess there's not really a rush!
