Cold Night Poem by Heaven Kalu

Cold Night

Rating: 5.0

The night is cold
With light showers
Drizzling and drenching
Like a smooth criminal
Splashes of raindrops
Fills the starved gutters
As the sky releases flashes of
Lightning while I strike a pose...

Tonight's sail across the universe
Would entail the following
Hiding under the Duvet
Curving like a prawn
Stealing warmth from spouse
Like weather for two
And pregnancy for one
If you know, then you know...

But don't be caught
In the cold arms of the night
That leaves you vulnerable to touch
Like you're on a spaceship to Heaven
While reality awaits you patiently
On your return ticket to lucidity...
