Colorado Poem by chris schwartz

Colorado

I'm feeling tires grinding
On this twelve lane road
A whole lot of nothing
Speeding through with
Nowhere to go
The sun keeps on
Blinking
Its lights into the dusk
But I just keep seeing
Headlights
Climbing up that
Winding highway

I'm feeling Colorado
The open air
Sailing through
My mind
I'm feeling Colorado
Nothing left
Worth leaving behind
I'm seeing
The bubbling creek
Dancin beneath my feet
And a shooting star
That I can't quite reach.
I'm feeling Colorado.

Just one call
Left to make
And this whole sky
Is Mine.
Pull the trigger on
The empty road
That I'm about to
Leave behind.
She won't worry much
If I make it there
But Lord help me
If the check's not on time
That's just fine
I'm calling it this time
Let the little red drown
My tears

Cause I'm feeling Colorado
The open air sailing through
My mind.
I'm feeling Colorado
Nothing left worth leaving
Behind.
I'm seeing a bubbling creek
Dancing neath My feet
And a shooting star
That I can't quite reach.
I'm feeling Colorado.
Yeah babe, I'm living
Colorado.
