Colorado's Own Poem by Roger Snow

Colorado's Own

Once again
I'm Colorado Bound
and by the roads end
I can only hope, , there I'll once again
be found, ,

Oh Colorado,
why don't you take care of your own
Must your Children always travel on

Just for a while, until they come back home

Rockie Mountain Sky,
why must you pull me home again
can not you let this straggler
simply find a place for his mind to lie, ,
Must it always be
you calling me home again
Like that old bell for the Wrangler
to Dinner
and then again
as the day is done

Once again, I'm Colorado Bound
be there before the word spreads
that I'm Gone, , ,
Colorado, , ,
won't you take care of your Own

From Angel Fire on Eagles Nest
I'll be Traveling on, , and no,
I will not stop for rest, , ,

There's plenty Rest to have once I'm Home
but for now, I must keep traveling on, ,

Shades of Memories
come flowing like Colorado's rain
through the Trees, ,
if I'm to be Happy
you must understand, ,
This Old Road here
is my one and only Release

Oh Colorado, ,
won't you take care of your own
