Comes Another Christmas Day! Poem by Dr John Celes

Another year is coming to a close!
Another Christmas Day is coming near;
Another chance to make up with ones dear;
Another season to enjoy, of course!

Let’s thank the Lord for being born again;
Let’s praise the babe for bringing joy and peace;
Let’s hope that all our sinful habits cease;
Let’s spread the Word that Jesus will soon reign!

Let’s hang the star aglow for people, aye!
Let’s decorate the Christmas-tree that day;
Let’s distribute some presents like a Fay;
Let’s listen to some songs divine and pray.

Let’s send some pretty cards to ones we know;
Let’s cut a cake to show what joy can do;
Let’s eat some home-made dainty dishes too;
Let’s celebrate this Christmas Day once more!

But let our hearts be filled with grace, be pure;
The King of Kings in manger born asks this;
He came to redeem sinners for God’s bliss;
He is the savior for all mankind, sure!
