Common Sense Is Nonsense Poem by Jon Yttri

Common Sense Is Nonsense

Common sense says you're happy rich,
Sad if you are poor.
There's no joy for those with less,
Only those with more.

Common sense says if you don't work
You have got it made.
Work is pain,
To work's insane
If you don't get paid.

But I that's what you call "common sense, "
Common sense is nonsense.

Common sense says it's better
To have a limo than a bike.
Common sense says eating out
Than to cook you more should like.

But if that's what you call "common sense"
Common sense is nonsense.

It's one thing to enjoy,
Another to desire.
Happiness doesn't come from things
Money does require.

Was it "common sense" when Al proclaimed
MC2=E?
Was Isaac inspired by "common sense"
When an apple fell on he?

May I please speak now or forever hold my peace.
If that's what you call "common sense"
Common sense is a disease.
