Companionship Poem by Talmadge Rogalla

Companionship

Through the ups and downs of life,
At times we may not be well,
Do we throw in the towel?
Or chime the ending bell?
Do we give up on our friends?
As we look over days gone by,
Not a message or a word,
Concerned we begin to sigh.
We find ourselves isolated,
For the unforgiving minute,
When we drove our friend up the wall,
When we drove them to their limit.
Then we do find happiness again,
For which we expect nothing at all,
But we want our friends back,
To have fun or perhaps a ball.
Happiness is our closest friend.
Joy we like to share.
When the blues are gone,
A smile our lips do bear.
Let us learn to always forgive,
And make nothing the unforgiven sin,
We need close companions,
We need a close friend,
To share our joys and troubles,
Or for an ear to bend!
So can friendships heal?
Or do we despair at the past?
If we can kindly forgive,
Then our happiness shall last.
