Composition Poem by Matthew Coombe

Composition

Perhaps later this evening
I will go down to the water's edge
and step down into the slatted curve
of a small wooden boat.

Then pushing off, I will shakily
slip over the gravel bottom
towards the intrigue of deeper and darker waters.
The very centre of it all.
