Compromise Poem by Zombie Chow

I closed my eyes
I closed my eyes and started praying
Mumbling so called holy words
Words that were supposed to save my life
Meaning was unclear but I did what they said
A gun was pointing to my head

Messengers of God they were
They said the words of God
So I kept my ears open and eyes closed all through
I didn’t want to see worst of my fears come true

They said God loves me
They said they would help me get closer to God
But I want to stay where I am
So I put this sand in my eyes
I will see truth in all their lies
I will do what they ask me to
I will take only what they give
Cuz I want to live
I just want to live
